Step-2: Preparation of 6-chloro-2-methoxypyridine-3-carboxylic acid:-To a cold solution of 6-chloro-2-methoxypyridine-3-carbaldehyde (15.0 g, 0.087 mol) in acetone was added sulphamic acid (10.1 g, 0.105 mol) and sodium chlorite (9.4 g, 0.105 mol) at 0C. The reaction mass was stirred at room tempreture for 2 hours. Acetone was removed under vaccume and water was added to the reaction mass.
