The aqueous layer was extracted with dichloromethane (2 x 300 mL). The combined organics were washed with water (2 x 200 mL),dried over MgSO4, filtered and concentrated. The residue was dissolved in a minimum amount of THF, and water was added slowly until a thick slurry was formed. The solids were collected by filtration, washed with water, and dried.The solids obtained (about 72 g) were recrystallized from hot EtOH (Smug solid) and the solids collected by filtration, washed with 2:1 diethyl ether/EtOH, followed by diethyl ether and dried
